Life in The Farmlands 2020-2023

In the summer of 2020, just having had a spiritual awakening and not wanting to endure another winter of lockdowns in the city, I spent my life’s savings on an insanely cheap house in Kingsport, Nova Scotia and lived there alone with no car for two years. I had an acre of land between the ocean and an organic farm on a dirt road: apple trees, berry bushes, a willow, oak, cypress, ginko biloba, a Japanese sinking tub and sunroom, lovely neighbours, double rainbows, Dutch-painting quality skies, and long walks through endless fields daily.

Slight down sides

Wood stove - no insolation - very cold
Japanese soaking tub was neat but not practical
No amenities nearby - got good at not getting things I wanted
Took me three days to mow the lawn and had to do that once a week in the summer. Also water, prune. Oh and of course stack wood for weeks in the autumn
High tides meant falling asleep on he beach could get you swepped away

Here are some pictures
