Fire Outside & Backrooms In the Basement

This was my first official post during the wild firs last week, however I bumped it up so I could start the diary off with a sort of historic backlog

  • I have used the smokey air as an excuse to hang out in the basement

  • and then… Backrooms became available to stream.

  • I have been in partially in the backrooms / liminal nostalgia realms since psychosis. The film hit all the right spots (except maybe character and plot but that’s okay. The director was young)

  • Tornado warning in the region for added bunker vibes

  • This is my first blog post. I will try to make one every day

Liminal photography backroooms

Sadly. I didn’t think to take pictures when it was orange outside but here is one I found online and can’t recall the source of

  • I consider Backrooms to be the Bardo of the 21st Century - the liminal space between life and death where the contemporary mind wanders vaguely familiar mostly empty largely suburban spaces without end.

  • Hallways, not-rightness, playrooms, Christmas trees, blue skies, row-houses, ambient sounds, shopping malls, basements, entities, pools, tile, animatronics. “you can go back but no one is there”

  • Also finished Halt and Catch Fire recently and it will go down as one of my all time favourites
